Oliver's practice encompasses matters before the family courts including public and private law cases and financial remedy proceedings.
In Public Family Law matters Oliver has been :

Regularly instructed to act for parents, on behalf of children via their guardian or other intervening parties;​
​​

Regularly instructed to deal with directions, case management, IRH and other interim hearings;
​​

Often acted on behalf of difficult clients and in cases featuring allegations of harm, jurisdictional issues or with other specific complications;
​​

Instructed in contested hearings, including interim removal hearings and final hearings.
In Private Family Law:
​

Regularly instructed to act for parents and on behalf of children where a rule 16.4 guardian has been appointed;
​​

Regularly instructed to deal with FHDRAs, DRAs, directions and other interim hearings;
​​

Dealt with a number of fact-find and final hearings. Including a multi-day matter involving experts and allegations of parental alienation.

Crime:
​
In cases before the criminal courts Oliver has
dealt with a variety of hearings including case preparation hearings and proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime framework.
He is also Level 1 on the CPS advocates panel.

Oliver has an honest, informal and approachable manner with lay-clients and a practical and positive approach to his work, which has allowed him to quickly build up a relationship with many local solicitors and a reputation as a dependable advocate.

Before joining Chambers Oliver worked within the Crown and Magistrates’ Courts for a number of years.
